Upgrading City Infrastructure
ACP’s Infrastructure Task Force is offering requested advice to the City on how to address its backlog of needed infrastructure projects. Chaired by Paul Bowers (Georgia Power), the team is
- Tapping private sector experts for best practices in infrastructure construction management.
- Working with ACP member Bud Peterson of Georgia Tech and the City to consider technology strategies to make Atlanta a smarter and more connected city.
- Supporting City efforts to increase public information on the infrastructure projects backlog. The ACP partnered with the City to bring Code for America Fellows to Atlanta. The fellows developed Infrastructuremap.org, an online tool that allows Atlanta residents to view where potential infrastructure projects would be implemented across the City: http://www.infrastructuremap.org/
Additionally, the task force is supporting City efforts to increase transparency on the infrastructure bond referendum, making information on potential expenditures more publicly available.
